My services are covered by most insurance companies to provide no out-of-pocket expenses for you. Do I need a Lactation Consultant?
There is a lot of science involved in breastfeeding. Skin-to-skin contact and suckling produce hormones that stimulate breastmilk (“the let-down reflex”). And breast milk is a dynamic composition that changes depending on your baby’s age and needs. But learning your new baby (not to mention your new milk-making body) is an art, and takes time. Navigating this new relationship, and figuring out what works for the two of you, can be a challenge because every mama and every baby is different. there are lots of different reasons to seek the help of a Lactation Consultant, such as:
Breast engorgement.
Plugged ducts or breast infections like mastitis.
Sore, cracked or painful nipples.
Milk supply concerns.
Struggling with nursing positions.
Issues with latching, tongue-tie or sucking.
Your baby isn't gaining weight.
Pumping either once you return to work or for bottle feeding with breastmilk.
Your baby refusing the breast.

I am mobile, so I come to you! Home visits are a great way to assess both mom and baby
In Home Consultation- Initial visit
I will work with you to first understand your goals for breastfeeding. I will assess both mom and baby, and help you put together a plan, while also answering any questions you have.
In Home -Follow up
Did you know your insurance will cover up to 6 consultations with a Lactation Consultant? Each day we learn something new! Once we've established a care plan and discussed your breastfeeding goals, sometimes things change and we need to re-assess.
Virtual/phone visit
Sometimes meeting in person is not an option, and this allows us to troubleshoot or discuss the need for an appointment

My name is Molly Plummer. I’ve been an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant since 2017. Prior to that I worked exclusively in pediatric primary care in Chico as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
I am a wife and mother who is passionate about the health of moms, babies, and families. My counseling style is evidence-based and judgment-free.
As a mother of two, I understand that being a mom is no easy task, and my goal is to ensure a positive experience surrounding feeding your baby. It is important that mother's feel comfortable both physically and emotionally, and that baby is happy and thriving.
